Description

You have no idea how long this took me to do.

My first art assignment. I put sweat, blood and tears into this thing tinkering around with photoshop, and it's still not as good as I hoped for.

I couldn't even cut the print out right. I'm probably gonna get a C for all my hard labor. :iconorzplz:

The assignment was to capture fear itself. I drew a phobia from a hat. I got "fear of dryness, desert or dry things" and I had to capture that with the letters somewhere in the image.

I was only supposed to use two colors (Tones are allowed)

And mine is black and that saturation of brown.
(although, I'm sure this bends the requirements)

I had to cut it 8 inch by 8 inch on a foamcore mat exactly. (which I couldn't do)

I hope I get a good grade on this. I'll really cry. I put a lot of effort in it. And it's not bad for my first time using photoshop. :p

Well, here's the fruits of my labor and why I don't update as much as I used to. (this took 3 weeks to do.)

EDIT: To clarify: I DID NOT DRAW THIS! You guys really give me too much credit. You think I could draw something like this? It's a photograph. I took a picture of my friend (I had her permission for her to be the model) and turned the picture grainy like that to resemble sand and dirt. Black because I was only allowed two colors and black is the most practical to use.

The background is a stock image of a desert that I found online.

The cracked skin texture I used are found here: [link]

I used mostly blur effects on the hair while overlapping many layers of cracked dirt while making them transparent on her skin. (Although, this effect caused her to lose some of her body parts. You can hardly see her nose, and her missing eye is an accident, but it worked for the piece, so I kept it.)

I hope that clears up any questions any one has
